Analysts in Russian-speaking game development on average earn more than $3,000 a month
We continue publishing chapter-by-chapter results of the salary survey we conducted from April to May 2023. Today's publication details the income levels of Russian-speaking game analysts.
We remind you that we are currently conducting a new salary survey. Through it, we are collecting up-to-date data on the salary situation among Russian-speaking and Russian specialists. You can take the survey here:
$3,037 is the average salary of an analyst in the Russian-speaking game industry. The median salary is $2,700.
The largest salary group (18.5%) for analysts in game development is those earning between $2,000 and $2,500.
As with marketers, the share of analysts earning less than $1,000 is quite small. Here, it is 11.1%.
Incidentally, one respondent noted that they earn more than $10,000 a month.
Nearly 20% of surveyed analysts currently reside in Cyprus. In Russia, a little more than 30% reside. The salary for those who remain in their home country is half that of their Cypriot counterparts.
Product analysts earn an average of $2,831 today. Those who work with data earn significantly more, around $3,575.
The starting salary for a junior analyst begins at the same level as that of a junior game designer. However, mid-level analysts earn $2,425 per month. In general, looking at the figures, one can conclude that each new level in the specialty offers a twofold salary increase (though this does not occur from Senior to Lead/Head).
Methodology
The research is the result of the third salary survey of Russian-speaking representatives of the game industry. The survey was conducted by WN Media Group from April to May 2023. The survey was carried out through voluntary questionnaires (users filled out a freely distributed form with questions themselves).
A total of 1,004 completed questionnaires were received during the survey. Among them were 28 questionnaires from analysts.
