Ubisoft has released a blockchain game called Champions Tactics, where hero prices reach up to $63,000
Ubisoft appears to have retained faith in NFTs. Last week, the company released the crypto game Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles. It uses the Oasys blockchain and is available exclusively on PC.

Champions Tactics is positioned as an "experimental tactical PvP-RPG." The gameplay is quite simple: players assemble a squad of three champion figurines and engage in turn-based battles.
Each champion is an NFT item that can be purchased at the in-game market with gold or cryptocurrency, or created through a specialized Forge system. The latter method also involves payments.
Currently, prices for figurines range from $7 to $63,000. However, the cost of most heroes does not exceed $335.
Champions Tactics is distributed on a free-to-play model. To launch the game, a Ubisoft account and a crypto wallet are required.
In a comment to IGN, Ubisoft Paris director Francois Bodson noted that collaboration with Oasys allowed the team to integrate blockchain for new gameplay mechanics. “Our goal is to offer players more opportunities by allowing them to own unique assets that affect gameplay,” he emphasized.
In 2021, Ubisoft already attempted to establish itself in the Web3 gaming niche through the Quartz platform, created for trading NFT items in its AAA titles. The first game connected to it was Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, for which content support was discontinued four months after integration with the platform.
