Former Rovio and Zynga executives received $2.3 million to develop cross-gaming NFT avatars
The seed round of financing was led by Animoca Brands with the participation of Venrex, AngelHub, K3, WinZO and a number of business angels.
Village Studio is a blockchain gaming platform founded by Will Luton (former executive producer of Rovio), Cyril Barrow (former vice president of operations at Rovio) and Tak Fung (former head of CSR2 development at Zynga).
She is currently working on avatars called Playken. According to the company, over time, the avatars themselves can be sold, and the NFT equipment belonging to them can be transferred from game to game. But she is not yet ready to say which games will be compatible with Playken.
