A veteran from Arkane Austin has founded their own studio for VR games

Eric Beyhl, who worked for 11 years at the American branch of Arkane Studios, announced the launch of his studio. He named it Cire Games.

As Beyhl wrote on social media, he formally opened Cire Games last year shortly after Microsoft dissolved Arkane Austin. However, the developer only decided to make a public announcement now.

According to Beyhl, at least initially, Cire Games will focus on creating virtual reality games. In the future, the studio plans to expand beyond VR and aim to cover as many platforms as possible.

Cire Games has already received support from Meta*. Alongside several other VR startups, it attracted funding as part of the Oculus Publishing Ignition initiative. The size of the amount received is not disclosed.

Beyhl joined Arkane Austin in 2013. Initially, he was one of the environment artists, but four years later, he became the team lead for the VR TranStar campaign for Prey. He later also formed and led the department for outsourcing artists.
