The Meta Quest 3S is set to debut on October 15

Meta has announced that its latest device, the Meta Quest 3S, will debut on October 15.

The new model is priced at $300 for the 128GB version, while the 512GB variant will be available for $400. It maintains the performance of previous models but comes with an enhanced battery life.

Purchasers will receive the exclusive game Batman: Arkham Shadow without additional cost.

According to Meta's statement, “Meta Quest 3S offers the same mixed reality experience as Quest 3, with enhancements including 4.5 times the resolution and color improvements over Quest 2.” The device also benefits from the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, which enhances visual clarity, reduces load times, and smooths performance.

The company disclosed plans to discontinue Quest 2, Quest Pro, and the 128GB edition of Quest 3.

Meanwhile, the price of Quest 3 has been reduced by $150, now retailing at $500.

Earlier in the year, Meta introduced updates to its virtual reality division, aiming to create a more open platform for developers and consumers. This initiative involved releasing Meta Horizon OS, the operating system for Meta Quest headsets, to other firms for the development of third-party hardware.
