New Oculus Quest VR helmets snapped up from major retailers in the US in just a week
Several major retailers in the United States sold out their entire Oculus Quest circulation in a week. The headset was thrown on the shelves on May 21.
According to Variety, the warehouses of Amazon, Walmart and Newegg have already run out of new VR headsets. Of these distributors, so far only Amazon has promised to return to sale one of the Quest versions (128 GB) within 1-2 months. Helmets with a capacity of 64 GB are over.
The social network Facebook, which introduced the gadget, is already working on replenishing the circulation in retail chains.
We are very happy to see the excitement around Oculus Quest. Some of our partners have headsets already out of stock, but we are working to resume deliveries through all channels as soon as possible.
However, the VR helmet can still be purchased on the official Oculus website, as well as from many retailers around the world.
As SuperData analysts stated in January, by the end of the year Oculus and Facebook may sell 1.3 million Oculus Quest VR headsets. Now there are no specific sales data. It is also unclear what the shipments were.
Oculus Quest is a VR platform that does not require a wired connection to a PC. It is equipped with an Insight tracking system with cameras, high-precision controllers and built-in speakers. In America, the headset is distributed at a price of $ 399.
