As part of the GDC conference that began yesterday in San Francisco, tinyBuild told how many new games on iOS and Android appeared per day last year.

The figures are not astronomical in nature, but they cannot fail to amaze.
According to Mike Rose, who is responsible for PR at tinyBuild, in 2014, about 500 games were released on the App Store every day and about 250 on Google Play. How many of them are worthy of attention, and how many would like to go to zero is another question.
Mike himself, in his presentation, divided the sales of games into three groups based on the quality of marketing conditions.
- Low-end: 0 – 2000 purchases (complete lack of promotion and dialogue with platform holders)
- Mid-end: 2000 – 3000 purchases (modest promotion from Apple/Google)
- High-end: 30,000 – 2.5 million sales (big Apple support, numerous features)
Please note that we are talking about the sales of paid mobile games.
In the framework of the report, which was called “Turning point: independent sales in 2015”, Mike similarly divided the sales of not only mobile games. He also touched on the sales of PCs and consoles.
For example, for PC high-end is, according to tinyBuild, the use of a popular genre, a large number of user videos on YouTube and critical acclaim. In this case, developers can count on sales of 100 thousand or more copies of the game.
