The number of applications in the Amazon Appstore has reached the 200 thousand mark

The number of available programs in the app store for Kindle Fire devices this April amounted to 200 thousand.

This is not so much when compared with the figures of the Apple App Store and Google Play, each of which has more than 1 million applications (the App Store reached the 1 million mark last December, Google Play has 1.2 million programs at the end of April). 

As for the growth rate, everything is much more interesting here. Until February 2014, the number of applications grew slowly. For example, from August 2013 to February 2014, their number increased by only 20 thousand. But from February to April, it is already 80 thousand.

If Amazon is able to maintain such growth rates, then by the end of the year its database will grow to 900 thousand applications.

By the way, it was previously believed that you can earn more on the Amazon Appstore than on Google Play. Among other advantages, it was noted: easy porting, high platform potential, relatively modest competition and higher ARPU than on other platforms. However, the authors of Badland were not enthusiastic about the market.
