XCOM: Enemy Unknown is now available in the Russian App Store
Almost a year after the worldwide iOS release, XCOM: Enemy Unknown appeared in the Russian Apple app store.
2K Games has a very strange attitude towards the Russian mobile market. She immediately publishes her games on it (Sid Meier's Ace Patrol), then waits for a year (as has already happened with Civilization Revolution), then does not publish at all (Haunted Hollow).
XCOM: Enemy Unknown was until recently assigned to the third group. It seemed that an excellent port of an excellent game for PC and consoles, released on most regional Apple stores back in June last year, would not honor the Russian market with its attention.
Fortunately, on April 12, for some unknown reason, 2K Games decided to open the opportunity for Russian players to buy the game. It costs 649 rubles here.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown has not been translated into Russian and, most likely, in this regard, has not yet received any feature from Apple.
According to box office figures in Russia, the game is now in the Top 300 in the iPhone App Store and in the Top 100 in the iPhone App Store.
2K Games is a publisher and distributor of video games, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive. Traditionally, all Firaxis games and the now defunct Irrational Games were published by 2K.
