Google told how to succeed on Google Play
At the last Vas Forum conference, Dmitry Martynov from Google shared the secrets of successful applications.
Martynov identified three components of success: quality, promotion and value. As he noted, it is impossible to find an application in the store without 1 and 2. After all, quality is the key to a high app rating, and promotion helps to increase the number of downloads. In turn, the value of the application to the user affects the number of installations.
According to Google’s quality guide, you should pay attention to design, functionality, performance and reliability. Martynov urges to take care of the convenience of use. For example, instead of registration and authorization, you can use built-in accounts. The fewer actions you need to perform to install your app, the happier the conversion rates.
To improve usability, test your application on various devices. Take care of filling the entire screen, regardless of the type of device. Do not offend the owners of tablets, especially since now their number is growing rapidly.
The number of active mobile Internet subscribers, among smartphone and tablet users.
Growth indicators as of the end of 2012 compared to data at the end of 2011When promoting an app in the store, pay attention to the visual side.
For the design, Martynov advises using readable fonts (20% of the banner height), not loading the description with unnecessary search engine optimization, inserting screenshots with good resolution, using promo videos and, of course, remembering localization.
Thus, according to Google, quality guidance, integrated promotion, planned in advance together with marketing companies, and attentive attitude to all users (whether owners of smartphones or tablets) will significantly increase the chances of your application’s success.
