Amazon Appstore earns 1.7 times less than Google Play in the USA
Distimo company talked about the top Amazon Appstore apps last March and the differences between this mobile store and Google Play.
Briefly and point by point, Distimo found out the following:
- The top 200 apps in the Amazon Appstore in March 2013 were downloaded about 16 million times. The most popular download category was games
- The most downloaded free app in the USA turned out to be the Temple Run 2 app
- In the USA, Google Play surpasses Amazon Appstore by 10 times in the number of free downloads
- Fruit Ninja Free takes the ninth position in the top free downloads on the Amazon Appstore. In March, the number of downloads of the game from Google Play was 9.1 times more than from the Amazon market. The game was downloaded 2.3 million times from Google Play, 250 thousand times from Amazon
- The top 200 paid apps were downloaded 1.6 million times, earning a total of $3 million on one-time payments
- The total number of paid downloads on Google Play is 1.7 times more than on the Amazon Appstore (the Play Store earned $5.2 million in March), but there are applications that get more on Amazon. For example, Survival Craft
