The creators of Fruit Ninja announced a new game
The Australian studio Halfbrick, creators of Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, will soon release their new creation — Fish Out of Water.
It is said that the idea for Fruit Ninja came to Halfbrick's creative director Luke Muscat while watching a commercial for knives that "cut everything." In the case of Fish Out of Water, the inspiration is somewhat more straightforward. The guy simply loves surfing and skipping stones on water.
In the game, the user has access to six fish, each with different physical characteristics. The goal is simple: launch the selected fish as far as possible. Like a flat stone, it will bounce off the water, collect bonuses, and continue bouncing off the waves until "victory is achieved." Essentially, this is a unique take on the concept introduced in Angry Birds.
As with any respectable modern mobile game, in Fish Out of Water, players can compare their throw results with friends. But the Australians have added an interesting feature: the leaderboards reset daily.
According to the company's marketer Phil Larsen, Fish Out of Water will be available on iOS within one or two months for $0.99.
