Google Play has opened Russian users access to movies and books
While Apple has announced the release of iTunes to the Russian market three times, Google Play has opened access to our users to rent and buy movies and books without official statements.
Books and movies became available to Russian users on Google Play yesterday. The interface of the new categories is identical to the section with applications. They also have tops, a list of new products, “Interesting” and a division by genre.
Movie trailers are available to users for free. The range of prices for rental and purchase of content is quite wide and is determined, if we are talking about a movie, by the quality of the video (standard or HD) and its novelty. Rental will cost from 49 to 59 rubles, the purchase of a film – from 100 rubles. The price order is the same with iTunes, but, in general, everything is somewhat more expensive in the Apple store.
You can get acquainted with the first pages of any book for free. The classics are completely in the public domain, but you will have to pay up to 400 rubles for the books of “fashionable” writers. At the moment, the selection of books in the store is quite small.
You can comment on movies and books without prior purchase.
