The Witcher 3 set a new record for concurrent players on Steam after the release of the remaster
On September 29, the remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released on PC and consoles as an update for the existing game. As a result, the third "Witcher" attracted the highest number of concurrent players on Steam in its entire history.

According to the data from SteamDB, a few hours after the remaster's debut, the peak online presence for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Steam reached 108,896 people — and the number continues to grow.
Previously, the maximum concurrent players for the Steam version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was 103,329. That many users were in the game simultaneously in January 2020, when the Netflix series "The Witcher" premiered. For comparison: just yesterday, the daily peak online for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Steam was only 21,752 players, so the figure has increased fivefold in a day.
Recent reviews of the updated game on Steam are positive. According to the store's statistics, gamers have written over a thousand reviews today, 85% of which praised the third "Witcher".
Professional critics are also pleased. Currently, the remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt holds a score of 94 out of 100 on Metacritic — though this is based on only eight reviews. Thanks to this, the project topped the list of the highest-rated games of 2026.
