The RPG in the style of Pokémon, Aniimo, launched on Steam with an online presence of 128,000 people
On September 16, the free-to-play game Aniimo by the Chinese Pawprint Studio was released. In this game, players journey through a fantasy world collecting magical creatures. The Steam version attracted a significant number of concurrent players within just the first few hours.

According to SteamDB, Aniimo's peak online presence on Valve's platform reached 127,914 players. This achievement allowed it to immediately secure second place in the top games with the "creature collection" tag in Steam's history, surpassing many previously released titles. However, Aniimo is quite far from first place, currently held by Palworld, which once peaked at over 2.1 million players.
Nonetheless, the Steam version of Aniimo has settled on a "mixed" rating. By the time the news was written, only 60% of the 5,100 reviews were positive.
Many gamers criticize Aniimo for being derivative, having dull gameplay, and featuring aggressive monetization. Notably, the most dissatisfied users were Chinese, who criticized Aniimo in 88% of their reviews, mainly for slow installation and bugs.
Besides Steam, Aniimo is available on the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and mobile devices.
