Data from ICO Partners CEO Thomas Bidaux indicated that 720 titles premiered on the platform last week, surpassing expectations by a month.

A breakdown shows that 530 of these games garnered between zero and nine reviews, while 190 received ten or more. From these, 95 games had over 50 reviews, 62 surpassed 100, and 10 obtained more than 1,000 reviews. It should be noted that games with over 1,000 reviews are also counted in the groups of 50+ and 100+ reviews.

According to Amir Satvat at Gamescom Dev's opening keynote last week, around 12,000 games launched on Steam in the first half of 2026, representing a 19% hike compared to the previous year.

In the same period, revenues amounted to $11.1 billion, Alinea Analytics reported.

The year before, in 2025, Steam saw 20,000 game releases. Satvat highlighted that merely 3%, approximately 600 games, achieved a peak concurrent user count of 100 or more.

Additionally, a whitepaper from PC distribution platform Rokky revealed that more than half of developers considered themselves overly dependent on Steam, with 72% perceiving it as a monopoly in the gaming industry.
