Following the main presentations at Gamescom 2026, we have prepared an extensive report on the winners across various categories. Inside, you'll find numerous charts and data about viewership, the number of new wishlists, and other metrics related to the games showcased at the German expo. Let's see for whom this week was the most productive.
In the article, we will explore:
- which trailers captured the most audience attention — summarizing the results from Opening Night Live and Future Games Show;
- leaders in the number of new followers on Steam — both among new announcements and well-known titles;
- the main winners of Gamescom 2026 in terms of wishlist growth.
All data in the report covers the period from August 25 (the Opening Night Live broadcast) to August 27. Obviously, after the weekend, the positions of some games will change, but the main conclusions can be drawn already.
In counting wishlists, we focused on the number of additions to each game’s wishlist before Gamescom began and compared these figures to those from the evening of August 27.
For trailers, we looked at the total number of YouTube views from multiple sources: official channels of developers and publishers, gaming platform channels (Xbox, Nintendo, PlayStation, etc.), and various aggregators like IGN and GameSpot. We also excluded several trailers with evidently targeted advertising views (roughly 2 million views and only 300 likes). This is a common practice, but it is somewhat unfair to compare such figures with organic ones.
The Most Viewed Trailers at Gamescom 2026
In terms of reach, the Gamescom Opening Night Live ceremony trails behind other events by Geoff Keighley. Just take a look at our report on the Summer Game Fest held in June. However, it's important to understand that Gamescom is not a one-time showcase of trailers but primarily an expo. Hence, many developers spread their activities over all five days, presenting demos, interacting with the press and audience, and hosting their own presentations.
