The indie label Kinetic Publishing, developed by the creators of Phasmophobia, is set to unveil its inaugural lineup at a showcase scheduled for later this month

Kinetic Publishing, established by Daniel Knight of Phasmophobia fame, is set to announce the initial games signed under its label at a presentation on August 12.

The event, known as the Kinetic Publishing Showcase, will be narrated by actor Ben Starr, recognized for his roles in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Final Fantasy 16, with production by DoubleJump. Details regarding release schedules and platforms for the upcoming games, which are slated for release in 2027 and 2028, will be disclosed.

Launched in January, Kinetic Publishing was created by Knight with no external stakeholders, aiming to support two to three indie projects yearly. The funding ranges from a few hundred thousand pounds to £1 million, tailored to individual project requirements. This initiative arose from Knight's desire to provide the support he wished he had while independently developing Phasmophobia in 2020.

Asim Tanvir, director of marketing, noted, "Starting Kinetic Publishing was about providing the support Dan needed initially. Since our launch earlier this year, we've received numerous submissions and encountered remarkably talented indie teams worldwide."

Chris Rose, the label's publishing production manager, remarked, "The diversity and creativity of the submissions have been impressive. Whether cozy, sci-fi, or horror-themed, our intention is to empower developers to fulfill their vision and achieve success."

The showcase will be broadcast on Kinetic Publishing's Twitch channel at 8 pm BST on August 12, with co-streaming collaborators yet to be announced.

Since its release in 2020, Phasmophobia has exceeded 27 million sales, up from 25 million reported at the time of Kinetic Publishing's launch in January.
