Dear Passengers is the new "friend-sim" hit on Steam. The game gathered 700,000 wishlists in just a day and a half
On July 14, the studio FLEXUS officially announced its new game—a co-op airplane crew simulator called Dear Passengers. The project swiftly rode a wave of popularity.
Dear Passengers
By the time the news was written, Dear Passengers had already reached 39th place on Steam's list of the most anticipated games, leaving far behind titles like Halo: Campaign Evolved, STAR WARS Zero Company, Gears of War: E-Day, and many other renowned titles. In the top list for current wishlist additions, it even secured first place.
The developers admit they did not expect Dear Passengers to generate such a big stir.
“700,000 passengers onboard in just 36 hours! We created Dear Passengers as players—for players, and, to be honest, we’re still trying to grasp what exactly happened. Seeing so many people add the game to their wishlists, share it, debate about it, create memes, and literally flood our feeds with it—it’s just madness,” wrote FLEXUS in the game’s event feed on Steam.
In Dear Passengers, you play as the crew of a passenger airplane belonging to the "worst airline in the world." Chaos reigns onboard constantly, and gamers are tasked with handling the issues that arise. The gameplay heavily relies on ragdoll physics, which only adds to the chaos: luggage flies around the cabin, passengers tumble, and keeping order is extremely challenging.
The exact release date for Dear Passengers is unknown, but it is expected to be released by the end of 2026.
