Media: King avoided layoffs during the XBOX restructuring due to its profitability
While many XBOX subsidiary studios are actively parting with employees, King continues to operate with the same team. This is reported by the portal MobileGamer, citing sources.

According to MobileGamer, Microsoft's gaming division has not yet sent notifications to King about the need to reduce staff, which has greatly surprised some employees. It is possible that the high revenue of the studio serves as a kind of protection for the developers of Candy Crush. It is assumed that currently King is one of the most successful “subsidiaries” of XBOX.
In addition, King's recent "promotion" in the XBOX hierarchy might have played a role. Previously, the head of the division, Asha Sharma, announced that King, along with Mojang Studios, which is responsible for Minecraft, would now report directly to her.
However, MobileGamer's sources suggest that King might still face cuts, but at a later time.
“King is a very profitable part of the business, so for now, the eye of Sauron is not focused on it. I think King has 12 to 24 months to prepare new games or improve financial performance before any cuts begin,” said one of MobileGamer’s interlocutors.
Last year, King had already laid off many people, also as part of XBOX restructuring. At that time, it parted ways with 200 employees, or 10% of its staff.
