After separating from Xbox, Compulsion Games is now looking for new partnership opportunities
Compulsion Games, known for creating "South of Midnight," has shared its willingness to partner with and offer support to other game studios now that it has regained independence from Xbox.
An open letter from the company indicated that returning to its stand-alone status allows it to explore new collaborations within the games and entertainment sectors.
The studio emphasized its "acclaimed original IP" and its commitment to artistry, technical skill, and a cooperative strategy on every endeavor.
Compulsion highlighted its recognition with a BAFTA, a Peabody, seven Canadian Game Awards, and inclusion in many 'Best Games of 2025' lists, inviting others to tap into its team's acclaimed talent.
In conjunction with Double Fine Productions, Compulsion Games transitioned away from Xbox as part of recent downsizing efforts by the platform owner.
Initially acquired by Xbox alongside Ninja Theory in 2018, Compulsion Games now moves forward independently, retaining rights to their titles "Contrast," "We Happy Few," and "South of Midnight."
The studio expressed gratitude for Xbox's past support in bringing their games global, yet it is enthusiastic about defining its future independently.
The utmost priority presently is assisting their team through the transition, maintaining optimism for Compulsion Games' future and continuing to produce unique narratives aimed at engaging players' emotions and intellect.
