Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced was released on Steam with a record-breaking online presence for the series and mixed reviews

On the evening of July 9, Ubisoft released the remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. The game received mixed reviews on Steam.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

In terms of peak online presence on the platform, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launched well. In the first hours after release, the new title managed to attract 99.4 thousand concurrent players, the highest result among all entries in the franchise.

Previously, the record was held by Assassin’s Creed Shadows with a peak Steam presence of 66.8 thousand players. However, it's important to note that some games in the series were released on Valve’s store with a delay. For instance, Valhalla only reached Steam two years after its release. This is also worth considering.

The reviews for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced were less favorable. At the time of this news, the remake had a "mixed" rating on Steam, with only 67% of users giving it a positive review.

Most of the criticism for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is directed at its less-than-optimal performance, launch issues caused by Ubisoft Connect, and controversial new features. For example, not all gamers were impressed with the updated combat system, and there are questions about the animations used. At the same time, many praise the remake for its high level of location detail, excellent graphics, and new quests.

Aside from Steam, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced was also released on the Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store, and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles.
