Kepler Interactive has purchased a share in the independent publishing company Oro Interactive, which was previously owned by a venture capital firm

A recent transaction saw Kepler Interactive acquiring a share in Oro Interactive, an indie publisher based in Belgium. Although the exact financial terms remain undisclosed, the stake was previously held by Belgian venture capital firm ForsVC. This marks ForsVC's first divestment, yielding a return exceeding seven times the original investment in less than two years.
With Kepler now as the primary investor, Oro Interactive will maintain its autonomy. The financial specifics of the acquisition have been kept private, as agreed by both companies. Oro Interactive's CEO, Sam De Boeck, expressed gratitude for ForsVC's initial support, which played a crucial role in the company’s focus and achievements
Sam De Boeck remarked, "Transitioning from ForsVC to Kepler is a natural progression in Oro's narrative. Having the backing of such a distinguished firm in the gaming industry strengthens our mission and enhances our capability to support studios more effectively."
Arne Ottoy, ForsVC's managing partner, highlighted that ForsVC recognized the value in Oro Interactive's approach early on—a strategy now widely adopted in the industry. This model emphasizes smaller games and better conditions for developers.
Ottoy stated, "Kepler’s interest signifies a pivotal moment for the Belgian gaming sector, showcasing our presence on the global stage."
ForsVC had previously spearheaded a €2 million investment in Mystic Forge, another indie publisher. Collaborating with Rom Utrecht Region, this funding was intended to aid Mystic Forge in expanding its game offerings.
