Microsoft: Pre-orders for GTA VI have set records for XBOX consoles
How many times console owners have pre-ordered the game, the corporation did not specify.

Microsoft shared its record in a comment to Windows Central. At the same time, it refuted the information recently shared by IGN journalists. According to them, the PlayStation version of GTA VI is being pre-ordered about eight times more actively than the XBOX Series version. As Microsoft stated, IGN's data does not reflect real statistics because they are based on the IGN Finds affiliate program and clicks on commercial links.
There is no official data on the exact level of GTA VI pre-orders at the moment. There are rumors of 39 million copies sold within a day since the pre-order option became available, but this is not true. The rumors arose because someone misunderstood the words of analyst Joost van Dreunen — he initially predicted that GTA VI could sell that many copies in its debut year.
GTA VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026.
