Sony is said to be implementing "stricter guidelines" aimed at so-called "shovelware" games available on PlayStation

Sony has reportedly started enforcing more rigorous rules, ceasing collaboration with publishers accused of releasing low-quality titles, including Afil Games, a company based in Brazil.
A message shared by Afil on social media, identified by Push Square, disclosed that due to PlayStation's "tighter publishing guidelines," the company will no longer collaborate with Afil Games for upcoming titles on its platform.
Currently, Afil's existing titles, such as "Chico's Delivery" and "Damways," are still available on the PlayStation Store in the United States.
Afil expressed appreciation to its audience for their ongoing support and affirmed its intent to continue offering fresh content on Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms.
Previously, in January, Sony removed numerous games from its PlayStation Store, including those by ThiGames. These games, often labeled as "shovelware," are known for being rapidly produced and typically provide simplistic experiences. Although some players appreciate them for quick trophy accumulation, many consider them an inconvenience.
Before this action, only three other developers — Eastasiasoft, Ratalaika Games, and Webnetic — had more titles available on the PS4 and PS5 platforms than ThiGames.
