The publisher Snoopy & The Great Mystery Club has been sued over the soundtrack for the game

In October 2025, GameMill Entertainment published the adventure game Snoopy & The Great Mystery Club about the adventures of the famous dog Snoopy from the Peanuts comics. Seven months after the game's release, the publisher faced a lawsuit.

The American company Lee Mendelson Film Productions, which contributed to many animated specials based on Peanuts, took action against GameMill Entertainment. In the lawsuit, they claimed that prior to the game's release, the publisher obtained a license to use the Peanuts characters but failed to secure a similar license for the music — a minor oversight except that, in their opinion, the soundtrack for Snoopy & The Great Mystery Club appeared suspiciously similar to that of the cartoons.

To prove potential plagiarism, Lee Mendelson Film Productions consulted a musicologist. At their request, the musicologist compared the original music with the soundtrack from the game and indeed found many similarities: from the identical musical tone to the specific rhythmic patterns.

The company believes that GameMill Entertainment's actions infringed on their copyright. Lee Mendelson Film Productions is now demanding the publisher remove the soundtrack from the game and pay compensation of no less than $300,000.

GameMill Entertainment did not comment on the situation.
