Paralives launched with 78,000 concurrent players on Steam
On May 25, indie developer Alex Massé, along with his team, released Paralives in early access—a life simulation game reminiscent of The Sims. According to SteamDB data, tens of thousands of people decided to check out the game simultaneously.

In the first few hours after launch, the peak concurrent players for Paralives on Steam reached 78,603 people. This outnumbers almost all available Sims-like games on the platform, with the exception of The Sims 4, which peaked with 96.3 thousand concurrent players. It's possible those numbers could grow in the coming days, but there's no guarantee.
To recall, last year another competitor to The Sims, inZOI, debuted on Steam with a peak of 87.3 thousand concurrent players, but interest in the title soon waned. Currently, its average stands at 2,000-3,000 players.
Meanwhile, Paralives has secured a "very positive" rating on Steam. The game has garnered 3,000 reviews, 87% of which are positive. Many gamers praised it for its grid-free building capabilities and advanced character editor, although they noted bugs and a modest amount of content as downsides.
