Media: Head of PlayStation Studios confirmed Sony's decision to stop releasing single-player games on PC

Hermen Hulst allegedly announced this at a meeting with employees on May 18th, writes Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered

According to Schreier, during the meeting, Hulst informed subordinates that Sony is indeed returning to an exclusives policy. From now on, single-player story games from its internal studios will be released only on PlayStation consoles, bypassing PCs. When the company plans to announce these changes publicly, or if it will at all, remains unknown.

Let's recall that Schreier's sources first reported on Sony's plans to abandon some multiplatform releases early in the year. It was suggested that the reason was poor sales on PC and potential damage to the console brand. It was also noted that live-service games from Sony's internal studios would continue to be available on all platforms, as well as single-player games from third-party teams for which the company acts as a publisher.

If Schreier's information is correct, the last single-player game from Sony on PC could be the remaster of The Last of Us Part II. Its release outside of consoles occurred in April 2025.
