Media: Asha Sharma has made leadership changes at Xbox — she has invited former colleagues from CoreAI to join the team

The publication The Verge reviewed a letter sent by the new head of Xbox, Asha Sharma, to the employees of Microsoft's gaming division. The letter discusses leadership changes within the organization.

Specifically, four leaders from the CoreAI team, which was previously headed by Sharma herself, have moved to Xbox as part of the reshuffling. There were also some resignations.

Details of the changes include:

  • The vice president of products at CoreAI, Jared Palmer, has taken the position of vice president of development at Xbox and also became Sharma's technical consultant;
  • The vice president of design at CoreAI, Tim Allen, has become the head of design at Xbox;
  • Jonathan McKay, head of development at CoreAI, will now be responsible for development and analytics at Xbox;
  • Evan Chaki, general manager of CoreAI, has become the head of the Xbox engineering department;
  • Senior director of products at Instacart, David Schloss, has been appointed as the head of subscription and cloud business at Xbox;
  • Roanne Sones, corporate vice president for Xbox devices and ecosystem, has taken on the role of advisor;
  • Jason Ronald, vice president of devices and ecosystem at Xbox, will oversee the new console Project Helix;
  • Jason Beaumont, vice president of user experience at Xbox, has become the head of the product team;
  • Kevin Gammill, corporate vice president of Xbox ecosystem organization, has left Microsoft after 24 years of service.

In the letter, Sharma explained that the leadership changes at Xbox will help "create an accessible, personalized, and open" gaming platform. It is important to note that earlier, partly for this same purpose, Sharma adjusted the development strategy of the division.
