The co-op flight simulator Cartel Pilots Wanted gathered 200,000 wishlists in three days
Late last week, Polden Publishing announced a new game — Cartel Pilots Wanted by the indie team OldYacht. It immediately caught the audience's attention.
Cartel Pilots Wanted
In Cartel Pilots Wanted, gamers play as pilots who find themselves on a tropical island and end up working for a drug cartel*. Now, their task is to deliver some very questionable cargo.
As writes Polden Publishing's head, Kirill Oreshkin, on his Telegram channel, to his knowledge, at launch, Cartel Pilots Wanted surpassed another recent hit from Russian-speaking developers — Quarantine Zone: The Last Check — in the Steam wishlist additions. On the first day after the announcement, the pilot simulator accumulated over 85,000 wishlists, whereas Quarantine Zone: The Last Check had a daily peak of 50,000 wishlists. By the end of the second day, the number of wishlists for Cartel Pilots Wanted had exceeded 160,000, and by the end of the third day — 200,000.
Now, Polden Publishing hopes that by the time of release, Cartel Pilots Wanted will have around a million wishlists. The game's release date has not yet been announced.
Simultaneously, Oreshkin reported that Polden Publishing's turnover reached $5 million from 530,000 copies of games sold. The most profitable game published by the company was the rat restaurant simulator, Restaurats — earning $2.15 million.
