Toei Company introduces a new publishing division named Toei Games

Toei, a leading company in the Japanese entertainment sector, has launched a new in-house publishing entity named Toei Games.

This venture aims to elevate its gaming segment to stand alongside its established film, TV, and events operations.

Toei Games plans to initially offer games available for download on Steam, marking its entry into the PC gaming arena. This will soon expand to include popular consoles like the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.

The first title from Toei Games is scheduled for announcement this Friday, April 24, with additional releases to be revealed later.

For this new initiative, Toei intends to create fresh intellectual properties in collaboration with international and local Japanese creators, rather than drawing from established franchises like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Sailor Moon, or Digimon, which originate from Toei Animation.

He further noted, "The venture into the games industry, targeting the global market, is a key component of this vision."
