"Embodiment of Style" received "very positive" reviews on Steam

On the evening of April 14, the Belarusian-rooted studio Sad Cat Studios launched their debut game, a cyberpunk platformer called REPLACED. Within the first few hours, the new release garnered over 500 reviews on Steam, with 87% being positive.

Most gamers praised REPLACED for its pleasing visual style and overall beautiful imagery, which benefited from the use of pixel art. Many also highly rated the soundtrack, story, and atmosphere of the game.

However, there were some drawbacks. Not everyone was satisfied with the gameplay, and there were complaints about bugs.

According to Steam Scout data, a third of the reviews for REPLACED on Steam came from English-speaking gamers. Just slightly fewer reviews were in Russian (30.7%). The top five languages also included reviews in Simplified Chinese (13.9%), Turkish (3.8%), and Brazilian Portuguese (3.1%).

The peak online player count for the Steam version of REPLACED reached 5,352. Notably, this is the second best result among games published by Thunderful Publishing, with only ASKA performing better with 10,713 players online.

REPLACED is available on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and on Xbox Series consoles (including Game Pass subscription). As reported by Sad Cat Studios, the game launched with more than a million wishlists, although it is unspecified how these wishlists are distributed across platforms.
