Crimson Desert has already earned over 20 million dollars on Steam

Steam users are massively pre-ordering Crimson Desert, report analysts from Alinea Analytics.

Crimson Desert

According to the analysis, Crimson Desert has already sold 363,000 copies through pre-orders on Steam alone, generating $20.3 million. These figures will be higher when considering pre-orders on PlayStation and Xbox, although analysts have not disclosed the details for consoles.

Alinea Analytics noted that in the run-up to its release, Crimson Desert is performing significantly better on Steam than past hits like Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Prior to launch, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II garnered pre-order revenues of $5.2 million on Valve’s store, while Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 collected “only” $2.4 million. Both went on to achieve massive success, with revenues reaching hundreds of millions of dollars.

If this trend continues, analysts expect Crimson Desert to join the ranks of highly successful games. They are already predicting it will be one of the top-grossing new releases of 2026. However, Alinea Analytics is concerned that the high price of Crimson Desert ($70) might deter some of the audience, impacting its performance.

At the time of writing, Crimson Desert ranks fourth on the list of most anticipated games on Steam, just behind Subnautica 2, Deadlock, and Light No Fire. At the beginning of March, Pearl Abyss announced that Crimson Desert has been added to wishlists over 3 million times across all platforms.

Crimson Desert is set to release on March 19 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
