Reports suggest that Sony is re-evaluating its strategy of launching PlayStation 5 exclusive titles on PC. Insider information, cited by Bloomberg, indicates that the sales of PS5 games on PC have been disappointing. Concerns are also being raised that such releases might negatively impact the console's image and potentially affect sales of the PS5 and future models.

PlayStation did not provide a statement when approached by Bloomberg.

Nevertheless, several multiplayer titles like Marathon and Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls are still poised for release on various platforms.

Unlike its single-player games, Sony chose to debut Helldivers 2 on PC immediately, foregoing extended exclusivity.

Reports imply that Ghost of Yōtei and Housemarque's new action game Saros are set to remain exclusive to the PS5. Contrastingly, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Kena: Scars of Kosmora are anticipated to be available on PC.

Sony initiated its effort to bring its major gaming series to the PC market through Steam in 2020, with games like God of War and The Last of Us leading the charge.

In 2024, the PC saw the release of Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut, marking the first PlayStation game to feature trophies, PSN profiles, and friends lists via a PS overlay.

The 2024 PC version of Helldivers 2 prompted a backlash due to its PSN connection requirement, which Sony eventually waived.

According to recent discussions, Sony might postpone the PS6’s launch to between 2028 and 2029 due to the ongoing AI-related memory chip shortage impacting the tech industry.
