The developer of the Soviet post-apocalyptic game "Last UNION" is looking for a publisher
We're returning to the segment "Investor/Publisher Wanted." This time, we feature a project by solo developer DevStoria. It is a story-driven action game, "The Last UNION," which has been in development for nearly three years.
If you are an indie developer ready to talk about your project and are also seeking investments, a publisher, or team members, be sure to reach out to us in the Telegram segment via @App2Top_bot.

About the Team
My name is Vladimir Tyagunov, Senior C# Developer and CTO. I work on this game alone in my free time, evenings and weekends. I live and work in Penza, Russia. I've been passionate about game development for 21 years, with over 13 years of professional experience.
Among the released projects, I’d like to highlight a construction simulator for building houses and structures from matches, aptly named "Matches," and a mobile match-3 game titled Call of Beauty, which I crafted in a synthwave/cyberpunk style.
About the Project
Game Title: "The Last UNION".
Genre: story-driven 3D action/shooter in an open world.
Platforms: VK Play (a free demo version is available), Steam (planned).
A post-apocalypse in a post-Soviet city. The setting is based on one of the districts in Penza, specifically as it appeared in 1993 (with some alterations).
Story: In 1993, a freight train carrying chemical weapons collided with a passenger train. There was an explosion, and the city was enveloped by a radioactive fog. This led to a crime wave. Whole neighborhoods became chaotic. One district—the game’s setting—was divided among four rival gangs. Eleven years later, in 2004, the game’s protagonist, Victor, with the help of a new acquaintance, forester Vasily, decides to stand against the gangs. People greatly suffered at the hands of the criminals; it's time to retaliate. Their main goal is to free their city, cleanse the areas of armed gangs, and find a way out of the zone.
The game development started on the Unity engine in December 2023. Ten chapters of the storyline are currently implemented. I plan to add 3-4 more chapters. Potential additions could include new gameplay mechanics and minor enhancements to the 3D world. Afterward, the game will be polished. I aim to complete the game by the end of 2026.
About Gameplay/Mechanics
The game includes:
- an open world to explore;
- a main storyline;
- side content accessible only by meeting specific requirements;
- a combat system with acrobatic elements, supporting both shooting and melee;
- vehicles;
- fishing (vehicles run on energy from radioactive fish).
About the Target Audience
The game is dedicated to all fans of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Fallout. The post-apocalypse in the post-Soviet space has a significant audience, which is part of my target demographic.
Additionally, the game is aimed at lovers of isometric 3D shooters (American Fugitive, The Precinct, Eclipse 2: Invasion of Darkness), and will appeal to anyone with a fondness for Soviet vehicles.
In terms of narrative presentation, the game is reminiscent of Max Payne 1 and 2.
About the Business Model
Monetization will be exclusively through game sales on VK Play and Steam. My primary expertise lies in professional business development and project management as a technical director; however, I lack experience in sales and marketing, making it challenging to predict future sales.
About Metrics
Recently published a page and demo version of the game on VK Play. I have yet to achieve the necessary audience reach.
Who am I looking for?
I am seeking a publisher to organize advertising, marketing campaigns, and subsequent game sales opportunities. Additionally, with investments, it would be possible to replace the protagonist's voice-over. I have worked on the game independently; therefore, due to lack of funding, I recorded the protagonist's voice myself. A professional voice-over would be better. The music doesn’t need changing; after posting a gameplay video in different communities, the musical accompaniment received only positive feedback.
