Nioh 3 launched with a record-breaking online user count for the series on Steam

On February 6, the release of Nioh 3, an action RPG by Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo, took place on PC and consoles. According to SteamDB data, the Steam version of the game attracted tens of thousands of concurrent users within the first few hours.

Nioh 3

At the time of writing, peak concurrent users of Nioh 3 on Steam exceeded 52,000. It continues to grow gradually, so larger numbers can be expected during the evening and weekends. In any case, the game has already become the most popular installment in the series on the platform. For comparison, the peak for the Steam version of Nioh 2 was 41,300 simultaneous players, and for the first Nioh on Steam, it was 10,600 players.

Nioh 3 simultaneously secured third place in terms of online player count on Steam among all published Koei Tecmo games. Only DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS (69,500 players) and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty (75,900 players) are ahead.

Nioh 3 Steam Online Dynamics

Nioh 3 made a positive impression on gamers. Currently, the game has a "mostly positive" (72%) rating on Steam based on 420 reviews. It is praised for its well-executed combat system, which has become more dynamic thanks to the ability to switch between two fighting styles (ninja and samurai), as well as for the vast array of weapons and a world that is interesting to explore. However, there were setbacks—Nioh 3 has optimization issues.

It is worth noting that the excitement around Nioh 3 at launch was generally anticipated. In late January, Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo released a demo of the game, which was downloaded over a million times in five days.

Nioh 3 is available on PC via Steam and on PlayStation 5 consoles.
