Analysts: Woolhaven is selling significantly better on Steam than other expansions for Cult of the Lamb

Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven is a major storyline DLC that has brought winter, new opponents, animal husbandry mechanics, and much more to the game. According to analysts from Alinea Analytics, it achieved better sales in its debut day on Steam than the last three add-ons combined over a week.

Woolhaven was released on January 22, 2026. Below are some figures from Alinea Analytics based on that day:

  • The initial sales of Woolhaven on Steam exceeded 60,000 copies. However, this includes pre-orders; without them, the number would have been lower;
  • The gross revenue for Woolhaven on Steam nearly reached one million dollars;
  • The PlayStation version of Cult of the Lamb set new record daily sales in several countries thanks to the release of Woolhaven. The specific countries were not disclosed by analysts.

Notably, Steam users have warmly received Woolhaven. By the time this news was written, the DLC had attained a "very positive" rating (93%) based on 469 reviews.

Additionally, following the release of the DLC, the online player count for Cult of the Lamb spiked on Steam. According to SteamDB data, on Sunday, January 25, 27,500 people were playing the roguelike about the possessed lamb simultaneously. This was the second-highest player count in the history of Cult of the Lamb. The only time it had more concurrent Steam users was at the release of the game itself, when the number exceeded 61,700.

As a reminder, Cult of the Lamb was initially released on August 11, 2022, on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, and it became available on iOS on December 4, 2025. According to estimates by Alinea Analytics, more than 6 million people worldwide have engaged with the project to date.
