Sales of Blood West on Steam jumped by 200% on the day the game was given away in the Epic Games Store
Sales on consoles also increased, but the exact figures are not disclosed.
The stealth shooter Blood West was available for free on the Epic Games Store on December 20, 2025. In a post on the social network X, New Blood Interactive's CEO Dave Oshry ironically admitted that he had been skeptical about such promotions in the store, but now he sees the results.
"I used to think that the Epic Games Store was a marketing black hole, but it turns out that giving away a game for free there is great advertising to boost sales on Steam," wrote Oshry.
However, it's worth noting that at the end of December, Blood West was offered on Steam with a 60% discount, which also played a role in boosting sales on the platform.

Oshry stated that New Blood Interactive decided to give all the money received from Epic Games for the giveaway to the studio Hyperstrange, which developed Blood West. The team will use this amount to continue working on the upcoming Endless West expansion.
The release of Blood West took place on December 5, 2023. Initially, the game was only available on PC, but in October 2025, it also launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles.
