The most anticipated Steam releases by Russian-speaking teams for 2026

The year 2025 proved to be rich in quality games from teams with Russian roots. More than seven projects were released, each earning over a million dollars on Steam. According to our forecasts, 2026 will be even richer in releases. We have compiled a list of games developed in Russian that have already garnered over 200,000 wishlists.

This article is divided into three parts. In the first, we discuss 10 projects expected to release in 2026. The second part is a collection of highly anticipated games slated for release in 2027-2028. The third part focuses on products that currently lack a significant quantity of wishlists, but have already made a splash in the media space.

Important note: none of the selections include projects that have already been released in early access format. Additionally, we did not mention Russian-language hits that have already been released this year. These include notable titles like Pathologic 3 and Quarantine Zone: The Last Check. We'll revisit them when we review this year's results.

However, it's worth mentioning that at release on January 9, Pathologic 3 had about 285,000 wishlists, and at the start of sales on January 12, Quarantine Zone: The Last Check had over a million wishlists (1.3 million). Preliminary data indicates both games have already grossed over a million dollars.

Also, it's important to note that the number of wishlists does not directly affect a game's position in the list of anticipated projects. For example, a game might have 300,000 wishlists but rank lower than a game with 250,000 wishlists.

This is because many criteria influence a game's position in the anticipation top list. For instance, one key factor is velocity—how actively a game is being added to wishlists. Additionally, it's important to remember that wishlists on Steam have weight. The wishlists of some users are valued higher than others.
