According to Circana, the top five most-played games on PlayStation in the United States in 2025 have not changed

Fortnite maintained its position as the most popular game on PlayStation 5 in the United States during 2025, mirroring its success from the previous year, 2024.

According to data from Circana's player engagement tracker, the next most played games were Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto 5, Roblox, and Minecraft.

The Xbox gaming community showed similar interest, although Call of Duty surpassed Fortnite as the most played game in 2025.

In the week ending December 27th, around one-third of U.S. gamers on PlayStation or Xbox played Fortnite at least once.

Fortnite also ranked first on both PlayStation and Xbox, with Arc Raiders from Embark Studios topping the Steam platform.

Arc Raiders recently surpassed seven million copies sold on Steam as of January 5, per data provided to GamesIndustry.biz by Alinea Analytics.

A significant portion, over 18%, of Arc Raiders' Steam players invested more than 100 hours into the game, and 0.25% of the player base exceeded 500 hours, particularly during the holiday season.

It is estimated that 26% of Steam users who played Arc Raiders also engaged with Helldivers 2, according to Alinea Analytics.

Further insights revealed a higher game crossover on PlayStation 5 at 40%, in contrast to a 21% crossover on Xbox.

Alinea Analytics' latest estimates show that Arc Raiders has sold over 12 million copies and achieved 3.2 million daily active users across multiple platforms.
