Following the premiere of Fallout's second season, the number of concurrent players for Fallout 4 on Steam has doubled

The launch of season two of Amazon's Fallout series has led to a significant increase in the number of players on Steam for Fallout 4. Since the season's debut on December 16, 2025, player counts surged from 20,000 to over 40,000, according to PC Gamer, using data from SteamDB.

Another title in the series, Fallout: New Vegas, saw its player base rise from an average of 8,000 to nearly 20,000 during the recent weekend. Fallout Shelter benefitted as well, experiencing a rise in users after incorporating show character updates, and similar trends were observed in Fallout 3 and the original game.

Back in April 2024, following the airing of the first season, titles such as Fallout 4, New Vegas, and 76 appeared in the US's Top 10 across all platforms in May. During that time, Fallout 4 ranked fifth in game sales, and Fallout 76 took the eighth spot. In Europe, Fallout 4 ascended to the top position for the week ending April 19, 2024, experiencing a 7,500% weekly sales increase.

The games benefited from discounts tied to the show, which first aired on April 11. According to Sensor Tower, daily activity surged by 225% for Fallout 3 and 4 in the weeks following the show’s introduction.

Ampere Analysis revealed last year that the premiere season increased the franchise's monthly active users by 490%. Furthermore, Amazon’s Fallout series has secured a green light for a third season after attracting 65 million viewers within its first two weeks of airing, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz.
