CD PROJEKT announced the sale of GOG for $25 million

The new owner of the digital store will be one of the founders of CD PROJEKT, Michał Kiciński.

As explained by the Polish company, the sale of GOG will allow it to focus on game development and publishing. Meanwhile, GOG will find itself in "very good hands" and continue to evolve according to its mission—to preserve older games.

CD PROJEKT emphasized that its games will continue to be available on GOG.

The transaction is expected to be completed as early as tomorrow, December 31, 2025. Its size is estimated to be 90.69 million zlotys ($25.25 million)—of which Kiciński has already paid CD PROJEKT 44.2 million zlotys ($12.3 million) in advance.

GOG accounted for a relatively small portion of CD PROJEKT's revenue. For instance, in the last financial quarter, spanning July to September 2025, the store generated 48.9 million zlotys ($13.6 million) for the company, or 14% of total revenue. Yet, its net profit has long remained at a very low level, close to zero. How GOG's financial situation will change outside CD PROJEKT remains to be seen.
