Pokémon TCG Pocket was named Game of the Year by Google Play
The end of the year is approaching, and companies are starting to sum up their results. Among them is Google, which has announced the best games in its app store for 2025.
Google highlighted these games as part of the Google Play Best of 2025 awards. Below is the list of winners.
Game of the Year — Pokémon TCG Pocket
A video game adaptation of the iconic collectible card game, developed by DeNa with support from The Pokémon Company and Creatures Inc.
Best Game for Multiple Devices — Disney Speedstorm
A racing arcade game by Gameloft featuring characters from Disney movies and cartoons.
Best Multiplayer Game — Dunk City Dynasty
A streetball simulator by NetEase, where two teams of three compete.
Best Pick Up & Play Game — Candy Crush Solitaire
A solitaire game by King, combining classic solitaire with mechanics from Candy Crush Saga.
Best Indie Game — Chants of Sennaar
A colorful puzzle game from the French studio Rundisc, inspired by the myth of the Tower of Babel.
Best Story — Disco Elysium
The mobile version of an RPG about an amnesiac detective. It was developed by ZA/UM, just like the versions for larger platforms.
Best Game with Ongoing Updates — Wuthering Waves
A gacha role-playing game in the spirit of Genshin Impact, set in a fantasy post-apocalypse. Its creators are developers from the Chinese company Kuro Games.
Best Game in Play Pass — Dredge
A dark fishing simulator by Black Salt Games.
Best Game for the PC Version of Google Play Games — Odin: Valhalla Rising
An MMORPG from the South Korean Lionheart Studio, with a storyline drawn from Norse mythology.
