Asus reports that sales figures for its Xbox ROG Ally X have surpassed expectations
Asus has reported that sales for the Xbox ROG Ally X have surpassed the company's initial predictions.
During a presentation to investors, Asus noted that the portable gaming device, which became available on October 16, has received an exceptionally favorable reception, especially its luxury higher-tier versions.
Due to demand significantly outpacing the available supply, Asus is actively working to boost production in order to address this shortage.
Reflecting on the series' history, Asus shared during a Q&A session (as reported by Windows Central) that the original generation of ROG Ally was launched 2-3 years back as an innovative market leader. The handheld, particularly within the Windows framework, has achieved notable success.
The company stated that they have met their initial target of establishing a premium brand position, which propelled growth in the gaming division. This led to the release of the latest iteration of the ROG Ally last month, emphasizing stronger collaboration with Xbox.
The latest launch has received high praise from the market, with the upscale models being in particularly high demand. "We are currently facing a scarcity of these models," Asus elaborated. "We are in close cooperation with essential component providers to scale up production and meet the existing demand gap. The ROG Ally is envisioned to remain a fundamental part of our gaming lineup."
With the product performing beyond expectations, Asus projects the Ally series to bring in revenue ranging from $96 million to $160 million in the current fiscal quarter. Future estimates place quarterly earnings between $130 million and $160 million.
