Microsoft has announced that it is presently working on new gaming hardware. In a conversation with Variety, Xbox president Sarah Bond shared insights into the collaboration with ROG for the ROG Xbox Ally handheld. Bond noted the demand for the device has been "overwhelming" and assured that the company is fully committed to developing future Xbox hardware.

"We are entirely focused on future projects," Bond stated. "Our next-generation hardware is underway. We’re engaged in prototyping and design. A partnership with AMD has already been publicized, which is integral to this process. This represents an opportunity for innovation and adds to the choices available to gamers, alongside our forthcoming hardware. Listening to the desires of players and creators is crucial, and when there is a call for innovation, we will create it."

Bond emphasized the importance of providing options: "We want to cater to everyone’s needs. For gamers who crave the latest technology and want to test the limits, we are creating products for that market. Meanwhile, for those interested in portable PC gaming, or who are casual or enthusiastic about gaming, the Xbox Ally serves them. Offering multiple choices helps us reach and satisfy diverse user requirements."

She also hinted at what's next: "Expect further advancements, like optimizing user experiences, expanding compatibility for handheld devices, and offering enhanced features. There will be more options and games coming to meet players’ desires."

Recently, Microsoft dismissed claims that US retailers have ceased selling its Xbox Series X and S models, affirming that large retail partners "continue to support Xbox consoles, accessories, and games." This announcement follows reports that Costco halted the sale of Xbox consoles in the US and UK, both online and in-store.
