The former head of VK Play and the founder of ITG have launched their own publishing company—Zavod Games

A new game publisher has emerged in Russia, called Zavod Games. It was founded by Vasily Maguryan, who previously led VK Play, together with Dmitry Gachko, the founder of the ITG corporation.

The management team of Zavod Games also includes:

  • Anton Stasenko (CEO) — former head of the publishing team at Astrum Entertainment;
  • Denis Levchik (Business Development Director) — former Director of Partner Relations at VK Play.

In an interview with the “Vedomosti” newspaper, Maguryan and Gachko mentioned that to date, they have invested 100 million rubles in Zavod Games. These funds will be used for purchasing licenses, promotion, and hiring additional staff.

According to the founders, Zavod Games plans to publish several games of "various scales" each year. The company is particularly interested in releasing multiplayer games with a focus on PvP from foreign developers in Russia and the CIS. Their debut project will be precisely that — Zavod Games has signed a contract with the Chinese studio Angela Game to publish Myth of Empires. The regional release of the game will take place in 2026.

The Zavod Games website states that the publisher will offer studios full-cycle marketing, localization, and development assistance. However, no details on the terms are provided.

Additionally, this Thursday, October 16th, Anton Stasenko, the head of Zavod Games, will speak at the "Gaming Industry" conference in Moscow. He will share insights on building a game publishing company in the CIS.

It is worth noting that the publisher Zavod Games is not affiliated with the studio ZAVOD Games, which developed the game Taonga: the Island Farm. In a comment to App2Top, a representative of the publisher stated that the names coincidentally matched. Furthermore, in recent years, the studio has operated under the name Volka Entertainment.
