The former head of VK Play and the founder of ITG have launched their own publishing company called Zavod Games
Another game publisher has emerged in Russia, called Zavod Games. It was founded by Vasily Maguryan, previously the head of VK Play, along with Dmitry Gachko, the founder of ITG Corporation.
The executive team of Zavod Games also includes:
- Anton Stasenko (CEO) — former head of the publishing team at Astrum Entertainment;
- Denis Levchik (Business Development Director) — former Partner Relations Director at VK Play.
In an interview with Vedomosti, Maguryan and Gachko shared that to date, they have invested 100 million rubles into Zavod Games. The publisher will allocate these funds towards purchasing licenses, promoting, and hiring additional staff.
According to the founders, Zavod Games plans to publish several games of "various scales" each year. The company is particularly interested in releasing multiplayer games in Russia and the CIS, especially those with a PvP focus from foreign developers. The debut project will be of this nature, as Zavod Games has signed a contract with the Chinese studio Angela Game to publish Myth of Empires. The regional release of the game is set for 2026.
The website of Zavod Games states that the publisher will offer studios full-cycle marketing, localization, and development assistance. However, there is no information on the terms.
Additionally, this Thursday, October 16, Zavod Games CEO Anton Stasenko will speak at the “Game Industry” conference in Moscow. He will discuss how to build a game publishing company in the CIS.
