Battlefield 6 has achieved a milestone by becoming the franchise's largest game in terms of concurrent users on Steam

The latest installment in the Battlefield series, Battlefield 6, has set records on Steam by reaching over 700,000 players online simultaneously within a day of launching.
Although it is also out for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, the exact player numbers for these platforms remain uncertain. Battlefield 6, however, did achieve a remarkable 747,440 concurrent players on Steam at launch, making it the franchise's most successful entry on this platform and placing it as the fourteenth most-played game in Steam's records, as detailed by SteamDB's Most Played Games chart.
Ever since EA resumed launching its games, including Battlefield, on Steam back in 2020, following a hiatus, the only Battlefield game with comparable Steam launch statistics is Battlefield 2042. Conversely, accurate data for past hits like Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5 on their Steam performances remains elusive.
This achievement for Battlefield 6 arrives shortly after its Open Beta phase became the series' most successful kickoff on Steam, registering a peak of 521,079 players during its opening weekend.
The news of a potential acquisition of Electronic Arts by a private equity group, including Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners, under the leadership of U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, has stirred significant reactions across the gaming sector, as reported by industry sources.
