Microsoft pauses price increases for Xbox Game Pass in certain regions

Microsoft has decided to halt the increase in prices for its Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription in specific countries.
According to The Verge, customers with auto-renewing plans were informed via email that the anticipated price hike would not impact their ongoing subscriptions.
The countries not subjected to these price increases include Germany, Ireland, South Korea, Poland, and India.
These adjustments will only apply to new subscriptions in the stated regions.
Should customers choose to cancel or renew their subscription, they will incur charges reflecting the updated rates.
Microsoft has assured users that any modifications to existing accounts will be communicated with "at least 60 days" notice, offering users the chance to either cancel or modify their subscription choices.
Kari Perez, the Head of Xbox Communications, stated that "recent Game Pass update remains unchanged" outside of these specified regions.
"Subscribers in specific countries can continue renewing at their prevailing rates for now, adhering to local regulations," Perez added.
They will be informed beforehand before any price changes come into effect within these nations.
Earlier in the month, Microsoft revealed plans to raise certain Xbox Game Pass subscription rates.
The increase affects Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, bringing the monthly rate from $19.99/£14.99 to $29.99/£22.99.
Microsoft acknowledged that "price increases aren't favored by anyone", yet emphasized efforts to "beef up" the plan's offerings and value as they adjust prices.
In September, Microsoft declared plans to raise the price of its Xbox Series X|S consoles in the United States for the second time this year.
