Marvel's Wolverine was initially announced in 2021. Two years later, a ransomware attack revealed details about the game.

Last year, Sony disclosed that Brian Horton, the original creative director of Wolverine, was succeeded by Marcus Smith, who previously worked on Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Miles Morales, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

Horton transitioned to Xbox, taking on the creative director role for The Initiative's Perfect Dark. However, after significant layoffs at Xbox, the project was cancelled, leading to The Initiative's closure.

Additionally, Wolverine's game director position saw Cameron Christian replaced by Mike Daly, while Christian continues to be part of Insomniac in a different capacity.
